Review of Clarendon Hills, Illinois

Best "small town" in Chicago's easy-to-commute wes
Star Rating - 3/18/2008
You can walk to the commuter train with you kids and wave goodbye to them while you pick up a Starbucks. On the way home you can stroll over to Little League or in summer meet the kids at the Lion's Park Pool. Housing stock is rapidly shifting toward new construction as the smaller ranches are torn down, though there are good number of older homes that are well built and situated on lots that can support additions and renovation.

Schools are excellent and are shared with the much more expensive (and more recognizably hoity-toity) Hinsdale IL. Five churches of various mainstream Christian denominations are in town and neighboring communities offer convenient choices.

For those who work in the suburbs the drive to Oak Brook is laughably short, Naperville is easily reached via surface streets or expressways.

A gem that is (fortunately) not well known due to its small size...
